The OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival spring edition, internationally acclaimed as one of the largest LGBTQ+ cultural festivals in the world, is pleased to present its Ladies Spotlight Film – Sisters (Canada, 2024), a heartfelt comedy of love, identity and belonging, at 7 p.m. on April 19 at Regal Cinemas South Beach (1120 Lincoln Road Mall, Miami Beach). Lou and Esther are inseparable best friends, sharing everything from inside jokes to a deep curiosity about sisterhood. Their bond feels unbreakable—until Lou’s father unexpectedly passes away, revealing a long-lost half-sister, Priya. Chic and enigmatic, Priya draws Lou into a new world, disrupting the codependent harmony she once shared with Esther. As Lou navigates this newfound sibling connection, tensions rise, and the rift between her and Esther deepens. Forced to confront the meaning of family, Lou must decide whether to hold onto the past or embrace change before she loses Esther forever. Directed by Susie Yankou. The film runs 88 minutes.
