While renovating this historic former bank into Shirley's Bistro, a hidden time capsule was discovered inside the walls, an unexpected reminder that buildings can hold stories long before we ever step inside them. Now, this space is being given a new life and a new purpose. Shirley's Bistro is the dream of a United States Marine, mother of four boys, and longtime member of the Quantico community who believed this town deserved a place where people could gather, connect, and feel at home. Named in honor of her grandmother, Shirley's Bistro was imagined as more than a restaurant. It is meant to be a warm and welcoming space where Marines and military families can decompress, neighbors can meet for coffee, friends can celebrate milestones, and children can grow up with memories of pancakes after church and dinner with family. It is a dream rooted in service, family, and love of community. Like many worthwhile missions, the road has not been easy. What began as an exciting restoration became a long and difficult battle through contractor setbacks, delays, financial loss, and countless moments where walking away would have been easier. But Marines are taught to adapt, overcome, and keep moving forward. Through every challenge, the vision has remained the same: open the doors and create something meaningful for Quantico. This event is part celebration and part rallying cry. The Time Capsule Opening Party is a chance for the community to come together, celebrate how far this project has come, and help push it across the finish line. Ticket Levels Available Through Kickstarter: $250 Supporter Ticket Admission for one guest to the exclusive Time Capsule Opening Party, menu tastings, event celebration, plus additional Kickstarter supporter rewards included at this pledge level. $1,000 Legacy Ticket Admission to the event, the opportunity to place a note, photo, family name, or message inside the new time capsule, plus all rewards offered in lower pledge levels. $5,000 Founder Ticket Admission to the event, the honor of being the person who officially opens the original time capsule during the live reveal, all Legacy Ticket benefits, plus all rewards offered in lower pledge levels. Each ticket level includes both the event experience and the other rewards associated with that Kickstarter pledge tier. Tickets are available exclusively through the Kickstarter campaign.
