Description
How can we provide affordable housing on the Cape while preserving its special charm? The public is invited to a free four-part forum with experts and leaders to address this opportunity. "Staying in Love with Old Cape Cod: Preserving both its Natural Beauty and Housing Affordability." The gatherings will be exclusively on Zoom from 6:30PM to 8PM Wednesdays, May 6, 13, 20 and 27 (every Wednesday in May). People may attend one, more or all sessions. No registration is required. The Zoom link is https://bit.ly/41NBKXd Representatives from environmental preservation organizations, The Wampanoag Tribe, town planning board members from Upper Cape towns and Barnstable, and State Representative Thomas Moakley will be among the presenters on the Zoom sessions. On May 6: Andrew Gottlieb, Executive Director, the Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC) and Jason Steiding, Natural Resources Director, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe; May 13: Rob Brennan, Founder and President, Massachusetts Housing and Climate Innovation Center (MassHCIC), and Chief Legal Officer, Housing Assistance (HAC), and Tara Cronin, Director of Resource Development, Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod On May 20: Town Planning Board Members of the Towns of Falmouth, Bourne, and Barnstable May 27: a larger panel will address "Where do we go from here? "Participants will includeThomas Moakley, Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing districts containing Dukes, Nantucket, and part of Barnstable County; Rob Brennan, MassHCIC, and HAC, Bob Leary, Falmouth Planning Board; Other panel members in land development, housing, and planning; Lew Stern, the Forum Coordinator and Moderator, who is also the Senior Innovation Advisor and Coach, MassHCIC, and a member of the Social and Environmental Action Committee of UU Falmouth, The Forums are co-sponsored by MassHCIC and UU Falmouth, (the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth).
